Stockholm Culture Night 2012

The Stockholm Culture Night is an event welcoming anyone from any age range including all visitors and locals. The night is known as an incredibly unique night because Stockholm’s culture institutions and exhibits open their doors to any visitors for a free entertainment experience. If your museum or entertainment budget is low, then the Stockholm Culture Night is the perfect event for you.

Created as an annual event not too long ago, the Stockholm Culture Night will feature over 180 different entertainment events, exhibits, and more. Stockholm prides itself in having an unique culture and the Stockholm Culture Night is the community’s way of sharing this beautiful part of the city with anyone who may be interested.

The exhibits and events of the Stockholm Culture Night are completely free this year, as to provide even more visitors with the opportunity to attend the events. From events such as walks through the Aquaria Water Museum, to drum workshops at the Stockholm Music and Theater Museum, to Romanian tango classes as the Romanian Culture Institute, the Stockholm Culture Night is a perfect event to cater to any visitor’s needs. Celebrating Easter in Stockholm

While you are celebrating Easter in Stockholm you may witness the tradition of children dressing up as Easter witches with long skirts, bright head scarves, and rosy painted cheeks. This tradition comes from the belief according to Swedish folklore that during Easter the witches fly to Blakulla to meet the devil. 

Although this does not sound as such a joyous story, celebrating Easter in Stockholm is quite an entertaining celebration with the tradition of the children going house to house in hopes of receiving treats. While celebrating Easter in Stockholm you may notice small decorated willow or birch branches placed in each household.
