Stockholm Early Music Festival
Prepare to be creatively inspired, musically rejuvenated, and historically educated at the Stockholm Early Music Festival. Celebrating ten years of bringing the exciting music of antiquity to life, the Stockholm Music Festival is a must-see event for anyone in the Stockholm area at the end of August.
The Stockholm Early Music Festival covers a wide musical spectrum of well-known and little known music from antiquity to the baroque period. The 2011 festival promises to be the most intriguing event to date and will feature evening concerts in the German Church, noon performances in the Royal Coin Cabinet and afternoon performances in the Finnish Church.
The performances will include the Swedish Radio Choir recreating the sounds of Venice's San Marco cathedral and Sequentia who will bring Icelandic Edda to life, as well as many others. Between performances, adults and children can attend the many coordinating events and seminars.
Held in the charming atmosphere of Old Town, you will not want to miss the Stockholm Early Music Festival.
