To continue supporting the foundation this race was built upon, each year the ships travel to different places in the world and attract millions of spectators. The Tall Ships Race spent some time in a port in Stockholm, Sweden. After spectators caught a glimpse of the ships here, they were able to stay and experience the rest of what Stockholm had to offer.

The first leg of the race officially begins on Thursday, June 30th and the last leg of the race wraps up on Monday, August 8th.  Throughout the three races, The Tall Ships Race 2011 will encounter places like Waterford, Ireland, Greenock, Scotland, Lerwick, Shetland, Stavanger, Norway, and Halmstad, Sweden. SIT aims to promote, "the education and development of young people of all nationalities, religions and social backgrounds, through sail training.”
